Directions for use:
For Greening Grass
2.5kg will cover over up to 2500 square metres
1-2g per 1 litre of water per 1 square metre
10-20g per 10L of water per 10 square metres.
For Hardening Turf
2.5kg will cover over 1000 square metres

About Moss:
Mosses are plants, comparatively simple in structure and function and, with the Liverworts, comprise the Bryophyta family – one of the least complicated groups of the plant kingdom. Moss is unsightly and often hard to manage. Simply increase the concentration to get rid of it. Moss grows where there is nutrient poor soil, high acidity soil, compacted soil, or soil that drains poorly or where there is excessive shade basically where grass cannot survive.
Please always follow the instructions on the back of the container carefully and do not use on hard surfaces as this can cause staining

Usually a flower head nozzle will give the best coverage with your application.
I have used this product to kill moss, used around 4 g of it in a couple of watering cans, they no around 30 litres the lawn has 4x7 m2. It didn t get rid of the moss and in the shady areas is still growing. I have just seeded a few weeks ago, can I apply iron sulfate again?
Please leave the reseeded grass a few months until it is well established to reteat the area again. We would recommend using 5g of the Iron Sulphate in 1l of water to cover 1m2.

Please Apply, waiting until moss starts blackening/dying and scarify. Then mow on high blade setting to collect the scarified dead moss. Then add the dead moss gradually to compost or green waste collection.

We would recommend on waiting at least a week before applying a weed killer. If it is a total weed killer in will kill all of your grass.

It can be applied after mowing your lawn.
Can I store Iron Sulphate in a shed. I do not have a tub but it’s in a large bag. Will it go bad in damp / freezing winter conditions?
We would recommend using a zip tie on the large bag and then put into a strong bin liner for storage in your shed. The damp may absorb moisture from the Iron Sulphate but it should still be effective.

Once the moss has blackened and been raked away from the lawn, we would advise you to leave one to two weeks before reseeding.
I have added the product in soluble form. Will it need more water in a few days time or is that it?
Always follow the label instructions and mix with warm or tepid water so that the Iron Sulphate dissolves for an easier application. Then leave your treated area for the solution to work.

Approximatley 2 weeks after application the moss will turn black (maybe quicker depending on amount of ferrous sulphate used). Once this starts to occur you would need to remove the dead moss with a scarifier or a suitable hand rake. The treated grass can be cut in the meantime.
I have a 1765m2 garden and a 25 litre sprayer at a 2gram per liter rate per sq meter that’s 30 runs ? Is that right ? That’s a lot of work ?
We would advise to add 1 kilo of Iron Sulphate into your 25l sprayer & dissolve with warm water this covers 200m2 and then block out your garden, so this would take 9 runs. Always avoid wood fencing or decking and stone & concrete paths to avoid staining.

No, this method may burn your lawn and make it patchy if the Iron Sulphate is over applied . A teaspoon is approximately 5g and a juice or milk carton or watering cans are available in 1l containers.

Once the product has been dissolved in water and applied to the grass, we would advise you to keep children and pets away for at least 24 hours, or until the grass has completely dried. It will be safe for them after this time.

I have just sprayed my lawn to get rid of the moss... unfortunately the sprayer leaked and went in the composite decking.. I imediately washed it off.. is there anything else I can do to stop it staining or going black?
We would recommend washing with lots of water and try to brush the area removing the leaked Iron Sulphate.
How much Iron Sulphate mixed to what ratio to lower PH level 1 point?
The best method for reducing pH is elemental Sulphur - about 1kg per 10m2 maximum. Iron Sulphate can be used but is not as long lasting as Sulphur but reacts quicker. Maximum dose of 2kg per 10m2. Any higher than these levels can damage plants. Advice is to use cautiously and test in small area.

The manufacturer advises Ferrous Sulphate heptahydrate will be 98.50% minimum - this is based on taking away all of the maximum impurities.

We would not recommend using this product with a Miracle Grow Garden Spray Feeder, as you cannot regulate the dosage correctly. For Grass Greening use 1-2g solution to 1L water.

Application rate of 500g dissolved in 10litres of tepid/warm water you can treat 100m2 with backpack sprayer - for 280m2 you will require 1.4kg dissolved in 28litres.

For greener, healthier looking grass, mix with water at the rate of 10g-20g per 10 litres of water for 10 square metres of lawn. You can use iron sulphate at this concentration at any time of year as long as good soil moisture is available and there is no strong sun or heat!

For Moss control use 40/50g per 10 square meters. Thoroughly dissolve this in lukewarm water in a 5Litre watering can, ensuring protective clothing, gloves, glasses are used. Water this 5L can over a 10 square meter patch. Therefore you will require 400/500g for your 100 square meter lawn.

After the moss turns brown, you can rake it loose with a garden scarifier to remove it from the lawn.
Hi, after reading some of the comments I'm confused to how much to mix. My lawn is 130m2. so that would be 130 litres of water. however in the comments you have advised using more product in a 10L/25L mix to reduce the amount of water/runs needed. I was looking at using 2.5g/litre for turf hardening. What mix would you recommend for turf hardening to reduce the amount of water needed and to reduce the number of runs needed in a 10 litre knapsack
2.5g per m2 therefore they need 325g of product.
\nMix ratio is 9 to 10L of iron sulphate solution per 100m2
\nSo if you split area in half ie 65m dissolve 163g into 6L of tepid/warm water - this will mean filling pack twice to cover whole area. Just makes it easier than 1 full pack and a part pack and dividing area into bits.
\nMake sure they protective clothing, avoid spraying on stone/concrete area, wooden fencing/panels/decking etc. Any undissolved product from 1st run can be used in 2nd mix.

The uptake is mainly foliar. It kills moss by 'burning' it as Ferrous Sulphate which is slightly acidic.
Hi Guys, having used your product previously with great success I returned to my neglected lawn this spring having not treated for a few years. I’ve applied at the recommended rate for killing moss and there has been improvement however having scarified i can see there is still a lot of moss. Within what timeframe is it safe to repeat the process or should I now wait until autumn? Regards Patrick
Remove clippings after mowing
· If you water, water deeply and infrequently and only if conditions start to dry
· Do NOT water in the evenings
· Do NOT scarify - you'll increase the severity and spread it further
· Anything you can do to improve drying will help e.g. reduce shade, improve air flow, squeegee the moisture off the lawn by brushing or dragging a garden hose across it etc
· Once the disease has ceased aerate and possibly scarify the lawn to improve drying and remove thatch that harbours fungal spores
The Lawn should be treated every spring.

The Pro-Kleen Iron Sulphate does not contain fertiliser. We would advise you to leave the lawn two weeks before applying anything to it.
